CASTING WORKSHOP WITH THEA MCLEOD

Step into the casting room with Thea Mcleod. 

This 4-hour workshop gives actors the chance to work with a professional casting director, receive direct feedback, and learn from their peers. The session will conclude with a Q&A, where Thea will share insights and answer industry-related questions.

Thea McLeod is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading casting directors, renowned for her passion for discovering, nurturing, and promoting exceptional talent. Her impressive television credits cover an array of drama and comedy, including Better Man (SBS), the telemovie Schapelle (Nine), Underbelly Files: The Man That Got Away (Screentime), City Homicide (Seven), and Whatever Happened to That Guy (Foxtel). In recent years, Thea has been at the helm of casting for several high-profile UK–Australia co-productions for Channel 5 UK and Network 10, such as Lie With Me, Riptide, Heat, and the highly anticipated thriller Imposter. She also joined forces with UK casting director Susie Parris to cast the role of Soames Forsyte out of Australia for the upcoming UK/US reboot The Forsytes.

HOW IT WORKS

Each participant will receive a scene 5–7 days before the workshop and must come fully off-book to create a realistic audition setting.

On the day, actors will perform their scenes in front of Thea and receive individual feedback. They will also have the chance to observe their peers and gain insights into what makes an audition stand out.

The workshop will finish with a Q&A session, where Thea will answer questions about casting, auditions, and industry expectations.

Participants must bring an SD card if they wish to take home a copy of their recorded performance.
