A Brand-New Creative Experience for Teens This Winter
This July, Acting Performance Studio is launching an exciting new 3-Day Teen Holiday Creative Acting Lab designed for creative young performers who love acting, storytelling, filming, improvisation and performance.
Running from 10:00am – 5:30pm each day, students will spend three action-packed days developing characters, recording video podcasts, filming scenes and creating content inside the APS studios.
This isn't a traditional holiday program. It's a creative studio experience where teens collaborate, perform, experiment and bring their ideas to life.
Students will work with cameras, microphones and recording equipment to create their own video podcast episodes, develop characters, conduct interviews and explore creative storytelling.
At the end of each day, students participate in a Playback Session where they watch highlights from their recordings before receiving their video podcast content to review and share via airdrop.
This means students don't have to wait until the end of the workshop to see what they've created — they leave each day with new content, new ideas and a chance to continue developing their characters and video podcast concepts across the three days.
Students will take part in a unique APS collaborative filmmaking challenge, creating and filming their own scenes as part of a larger story.
Using acting, improvisation and creative storytelling, each group contributes a different chapter of the film, with the complete story only revealed during the final showcase screening.
The result is a fun, unpredictable film filled with creative twists, surprises and ideas that nobody sees coming until the final day.
Students will explore self-tape techniques used by professional actors while developing stronger screen acting skills, performance choices and camera awareness.
Every student will receive a professional actor headshot session, perfect for aspiring performers, self-tapes, casting profiles and agency submissions.
Students will step behind the microphone to explore character acting, vocal performance and voiceover techniques using animated scenes and creative material.
Throughout the workshop, students will participate in improvisation activities, performance games and character-building exercises designed to develop confidence, creativity and performance skills.
Friends and family are invited to join us on the final afternoon as students present selected video podcast highlights, filmed scenes, voiceover performances and creative projects developed throughout the workshop.
