NDIS acting classes

ABOUT THE CLASS

Welcome to the extraordinary Stage & Screen: All Abilities class at Acting Performance Studio—a transformative experience crafted for teens and adults, designed to immerse you in the captivating realms of both screen and stage acting. Let the spotlight shine on your unique artistry in an encouraging and educational environment.

Crafting Artistry:

Embark on an enriching exploration of acting, where fundamental techniques for both stage and screen come alive. Dive into TV/Film/Sitcom scripts, embracing character work, and discover the power of costume to breathe life into your performances. As part of our hands-on curriculum, experience the thrill of using camera equipment for filming scenes during class, elevating your understanding of the craft.

Showcase Your Talents:

Twice a year, showcase your newfound artistry to a live audience. In the Mid-Year 'Scenes on Stage,' bring scripts from your desired TV sitcoms to life, enchanting the audience with your chosen scenes. Then, at the End-of-Year Showcase, perform your devised piece on stage, creating a grand finale to a year of artistic exploration. Our commitment to accessible education ensures that whether you're a teen or an adult, your journey in the world of acting takes centre stage.

Term Outcomes:

  • Term 1: Experience an in-house showing of the scene work and film projects developed in class, showcasing the depth of your creative endeavours.
  • Term 2: Elevate your craft with 'Scenes on Stage,' a live audience presentation where the script work from Term 1 comes to life on the stage. The performance dates will be confirmed during the year as one of the following: 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th, or 30th June. The venue for the performance will be Moorabbin Town Hall.
  • Term 3: Engage in an in-house performance of an in development devised piece collaboratively workshopped with your tutor based on characters of your choosing.
  • Term 4: Culminate your journey with a grand showcase, performing your devised piece on stage in front of a live audience. Date & Location TBC—an unforgettable finale to a year of artistic exploration.
