ABOUT THE CLASS

Welcome to Senior Kids Acting at Acting Performance Studio—an enriching experience tailored for kids aged 7-12 who are eager to dive into the world of screen acting. Unlocking their potential and fostering confidence, our class provides a dynamic and supportive environment for young talents to thrive.

Crafting Confident Performers:

As young actors in the making, children actively engage in purposeful activities like improvisation games, character exploration through nuanced voice and physical choices, and delving into the intricacies of acting techniques. These practical exercises not only instill essential skills but also foster the confidence needed to express themselves authentically on the stage and screen.

Exploring Screen Acting Techniques:

Under our guidance, young talents delve into the world of screen acting, with a specific focus on mastering chats to camera and self-tapes commonly used in TV and film. This targeted exploration hones their screen acting techniques, preparing them for the exciting challenges of on-screen performances.

Green Screen Adventures:

Embark on an exhilarating journey throughout the terms, exploring the enchanting world of Green Screen. Witness the magic unfold as your child's creativity comes to life in fantastical locations, adding an exciting dimension to their acting experience.

Creative Outcomes:

  • Scenes on Stage Performance: At the conclusion of Term 2, Young talents will take the stage, performing scenes to a live audience. The performance dates will be confirmed during the year as one of the following: 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th, or 30th June. The venue for the performance will be Moorabbin Town Hall.
  • Short Film Stories: In Term 3, students will create and film short stories, presented at the APS Cinema Showcase in December. Each story is limited to a maximum of 2 minutes.
  • Parent/Guardian Showcase: The last 30 minutes of the last class of each term will be dedicated to showcasing the students' progress for parents/guardians. Please note that this showcasing won't take place if there is a stage or cinema showcase scheduled for that term.

Note:

The number of Short Film Stories produced per class by APS is largely influenced by the time-consuming and meticulous editing process. It's important to emphasise that APS holds the final say in determining the quantity of films produced per class, guaranteeing a meticulous and personalised approach to the creative process.
